This interesting stage of the hike to Reka e Allagёs begins with an ascent to the Lumbardhi ridge, a viewpoint that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and Milisevc. Then it continues with a steep descent to the Rugova Camp Hotel before continuing uphill on gravel roads to Reka e Allagёs.
For a less demanding hike, the trail can be split into two days. The first day would be a 9.1 kilometre ascent to the Lumbardhi ridge and then a steep descent to Rugova Camp (WP 11d), where accommodation can be found. The second day consists of a 6.8 kilometre hike from Rugova Camp to the village of Reka e Allagës with a gentle ascent along the gravel roads.
The hike starts from the main road (gravel road) of the village (SS 11c) and climbs directly northwards along the mule track that crosses the Bjeshka e Lumbardhit ridge. At SS 1d we reach a beautiful meadow with breathtaking views of Gjeravica (the highest mountain in Kosovo), Marjashi peak (south-west of our position) and Milisevc.
Our ascent to the north is on a somewhat confusing but easily recognisable path that leads to the pass (WP 2d). From the pass, we continue northwards to Mount Guri i Kuq, which can be recognised by its red rock formations. As we approach the mountain face, we reach a wide path that leads us to Pusi i Magareve (WP 3d) - a small lake for the cattle. We follow the path northwards, with the lake on our right, and then start a steep descent northwards along a mule track at SS 4d. At SS 5d we reach a gravel road, which we follow until we turn left at the crossroads (SS 6d). The hike continues along a mule track through the forest. We descend in a northerly direction along mule tracks, gravel roads and several crossroads (see the list of waypoints) until we reach the Rrugova Camp Hotel, which is located directly on the main road. The Rrugova Camp is a welcoming place to rest before we finish this day hike in the village of Reka e Allagёs.
From Rrugova Camp, you can either hike to Reka e Allagёs or take a taxi. From here it is 6.8 kilometres and the path leads 1.7 kilometres along the main road and the rest along a gravel road.
We recommend Mustafa Hakaj's guest house (WP 15d), which is located in the Hokaj neighbourhood. of the village of Reka e Allagёs.
