Peaks of the Balkans - Border Permits

Border Crossing Permits - Peaks of the Balkans

Peaks of the Balkans border permits are issued by the police authorities of the three countries Albania, Kosovo and Montenegro. Montenegro issues a stamped document; Kosovo sends an e-mail, while Albania does not provide a written document.

These border permits are also provided by various companies, including the information website "Peaks of the Balkans".

After your application, we will send you a scanned authorisation from the Montenegrin border police and an e-mail confirmation from the Kosovar police.

You can apply by completing the form below and attaching a copy of your passport. When we prepare your documents, we will inform you of the payment details and send you the permits by e-mail.

Yes, you must provide us with all the details, including the date on which you cross the border and the location of the border crossing. The "Peaks of the Balkans" border authorisation is only valid for the day on which you apply for it.

If you cross the border without authorisation, you are breaking the law of two countries. The one you are leaving and the one you are entering. For this reason, you will not be arrested, but detained by the police until you pay a fine of around 300 euros.

There are not too many controls, but occasionally there are police officers at certain points along the way who will ask you for your documents.
